The Drupa International Printing Fair is over and we take away many new contacts, knowledge and plans. We appreciate all the meetings! A total of 170,000 visitors from 172 countries came to Dusseldorf, Germany. We are full of new ideas, so we will keep busy the rest of the year and start new projects.
We have come to the table with our customers, our dealers, but also with partners who make it possible to plan big. A great example is the long-existing collaboration with Canon. Throughout the fair we presented the X-Stream 3680 laminating machine in inline connection with a Canon printer. Cooperation with suppliers of laminating films enriched us with valuable knowledge. We definitely want to explore the properties of films and their compatibility with Komfi machines in greater depth!
We introduced laminating machines in B3, B2 and B1 formats as well as full surface varnishing and partial coating. We also applied an effect film to digital toner on the Junior 52 and applied this film to partial varnish on the Spot-Matic. A special application of this kind catches the eye at first glance – the resulting sheet/book/game is shiny and looks luxurious. Furthermore, at the Komfi booth we impressed the visitors with embossed samples, the application of eco-friendly film and also silver foil on which we re-printed our sample lizard. In total, more than 6 hundred visitors stopped by our booth. The Spot-matic shone in particular, with its perfect accuracy being appreciated by the visitors. The Delta laminating machine didn’t just “sit in the corner” either, visitors were impressed by its performance or how flawlessly it handles laminating thin paper.
Dr Andreas Pleßke, Chairman of the drupa Committee, emphasised the exceptional position and relevance of drupa: “drupa stands for new approaches and new technologies like no other trade fair. It is not only the largest, but also the most important global platform for our industry, because the entire printing and post-press industry meets at the world-leading trade fair. It has been invaluable for generating leads. Nowhere else offers the opportunity to make so many new international contacts from all over the world in such a short space of time in one place.”
